July 2020

As the summer rolled on the weather was kind to me, so progress continued at a good pace. The long wall to the side of the house started to all be above ground level. The building of the short return wall in the front garden could also begin, this mirrors the line of the original dry stone wall that ran through the middle of the property.

As the country was out of lock down my brother was able to come down and work for a few days to enable us to finish the wall to the car park at the front of the garden. We needed to fill in the small trench  that was dug to enable the wall to be built. This was one of those jobs we had hoped to do at the start of the year, but it needed two people to do it. This meant the Heras fencing was able to come down from the carpark which was long over due.

As we still had time to spare with my brother, we were able to do the kerbs for the path around the house.

To add to the five pound coin I had found earlier, two more turned up. Which this does make me wonder how they had got into our garden!

The rhubarb was still producing some monster sticks.  Midge is in the photo for scale!
