May 2020

As we got to used to the new norm, I kept going with the stone work. I was now on to the long run down the side of the house which is 15 meters long. With the complication of building onto bed rock so the first course of stone was pegged into the bed rock and bonded as well.

The addition of 6 inchs to this wall was a 5 day process to laye the stone. It also required about 3 days of sorting stone  to find the larger flat ones and a day of moving the required stone into the hole to be used, which was a journey from the garden at the front of the house and down the ramp at the back. The final day of the process was to spend another day bringing in the back fill (the stone that is packed into the back of wall), all the way around the house again and packing this into the wall as tight as possible.
